New funding creates room to expand engineering, but the existing roadmap may still contain unvalidated assumptions. Select the first external lot based on readiness and business relevance.
Separate exploration from implementation
Identify the customer problem and the evidence supporting it. Unresolved product choices deserve an exploration mandate. A delivery lot needs acceptance criteria and a decision maker.
Check shared dependencies
List interfaces and internal reviewers. More engineers will also create more questions and reviews. Reserve that internal capacity before agreeing to simultaneous workstreams.
Use the pilot to update the plan
Review the accepted result, correction effort and waiting time. Ask for a handover that your internal team can use. Avoid extrapolating an unlimited delivery rate from one easy feature. The next lot should reflect the actual dependencies and oversight effort discovered during the pilot.
