An enterprise customer asks for single sign-on. The login screen is only one part of the delivery; your customer also needs a predictable setup and support process.
Map the account lifecycle
Describe account creation, linking and removal. Decide what happens to existing users and invited accounts. Assign responsibility for customer configuration and for changes in their identity system.
Test difficult transitions
Check an expired session, an unknown identity and a user whose access has been withdrawn. Confirm that application permissions still apply after authentication. Authentication alone does not authorize every operation.
Prepare customer acceptance
Provide setup instructions and error information that support staff can use safely. Ask the development partner to include a supervised customer test and its unresolved cases. Compare proposals on the entire rollout, including ongoing configuration ownership, rather than the implementation of a login redirect alone.
